What is a good salary for a software engineer? I think it's around $50 - $150K these days (on average). Of course you will have your outliers at Google and other FAANG companies that make $400k+ but (like any industry) this tends to represent the cream of the crop.

There are many talented engineers out there who don't make as much but only because they choose to work on things they are MOST interested in.

A good salary for a software engineer entirely depends on the level:

JUNIOR: $50k

MIDLEVEL: $100k

SENIOR:$150k

PRINCIPLE:$200k+

This is a generic rule of thumb. Of course cost of living is alway something to think about.

completely depends on experience but junior level status can be achieved by showing some formal education and personal portfolio of projects. this can pay around $50-$75k

more experienced full stack engineers can make a wider range (and higher range) around $100-$130k.

seniors and beyond can easily clear $200k+

but this of course is all dependent on cost of living.

it depends on how good the software engineer is! What is a good salary for a software engineer entirely depends on their education level, years of experience, type of environment (startup, corporate), and other things.

The BOTTOM line is software engineering is a LUCRATIVE industry. It remains hot and growing..and is essentially replacing other careers altogether.

huge difference between contractor and full time when you are talking about salary. We also need to address benefits, stock options, and other perks that can come along with corporate jobs.

it doesn't matter when you can make really good money through real estate syndication...just saying
